..that's a K&N brand high flow air filter...gives your scoot a little more oomph, and makes it louder also...

..the stock A50 airbox was butt-ugly...lol..

..it fairly forgiving as far as needing to be cleaned...

..just pop it off, blow it out with compressed air...good to go!!

..i clean mine about once a month whether it needs it or not...

You can put one on a stock carb, but you will have to re-jet.

..yeah, what shaka said...

..it's a performance enhancment, but you must up-size yor carb's main jet and also adjust your idle mix, via the idle mix adjusting screw on your carburetor.......

Go for it! It is just a scoot. The hotter the spark you can get the more fuel you can burn. The more fuel= the more air you need. Get a good coil, and then get an air filter/jets. The coil should not cost more than $20.00 delivered. CAN THAT BE PUT ON A STOCK SET-UP (NO JET OR BIG CARB KIT)  NO!

The idle mixture adjusting screw is some times called an air screw. You turn it either way in 1/4 turn increments. You want to get the best/highest rpm's on the adjustment. Once you get it to its peak, turn it 1/4 turn counter clockwise. that will be the final setting. you can then use the idle speed screw to get the idle rpm's where you need them. Always have a clean air filter before adjusting the mix.

You turn it back to be on the safe side.  That 1/4 turn makes it slightly richer.  At peak rpm with the mix screw you are actually a little lean.

You might wan to get a KIT of jets. Say 95-106. There is no real way to predict what you may need. $20.00 on jets is not too bad, and it is always better to be safe than LEAN.

DO THAT COME IN A PACK OF 95-106    You can ask for the jets in that range 95/98/100/102/104/106
