If it is anything like the carb on my ZX50, it doesn't come off, at least easily! The metal tube the cable runs through as it enters the cap is flared on the underside through the center of a washer. I had to pry up the flaring to pull the washer off. This allowed me to remove the carb cap from the cable, but the 90 deg. metal tube is still attached. I then had to use a small pipe cutter to remove a short section of the metal tube to essentially lengthen the cable to allow full travel of my aftermarket carb. slide.
