Nolan helmets
« on: May 10, 2010, 09:27:15 AM »
G'day all, Mrs. Sid is looking at buying a flip face helmet, she is currently using an open face one because she wears glasses and cant get them into the fullface helmet without damaging the arms. Having tried on a Nolan N102 she likes the feel of it. I was wondering if they were any good or should she be looking at something else for the money, $479. Any thoughts appreciated.

Air Rider also sells the 103 is $300

You also may want to check out the Scorpion line as well.  I have tried these on and will consider as well when I am looking to replace what I have.

I've been very happy with my Scorpion Exo400.  I know they make a flip up as well, but I haven't used it.

I have used Nolan for years and like them.  I have a 102 flipup now.   The 103 is current model and they have the new open face with the chin bar as well.

I had to break the message up, something went really weird when I put two links one after the other...

Anyhow, I looked at the Scorpion at a local MC shop and they are really nice as well and seemed to be priced reasonable.

I do like the new styles that have the built in sun visor that flips down.  Will be on my next purchase.

Thanks mate, she really likes the nolan. We are going over to Port Pirie today to try on the R-Jays and see what else they have. I think she will go with the nolan though. Thanks for your input.

Thanks for the responses everyone, Mrs. sid has decided, after trying on an R-Jays Tourtech and an RST she reckons there is no comparison, Nolan wins hands down. :)

ive been a Nolan helmet user for several years and have had a N84,N102, N103, and now a Trilogy. Of all of these I was happiest using the N84 until the decal peeled off and Nolan refused to honor the warrenty on a 4 month old lid. Fortunately I had bought it from a major internet dealer, Iron Pony, and they honored the warenty. The next best was the N102, I used it for about 2 years until it was stolen from my bike.. The N103 that I bought to replace it just didnt fit right. It was too tight at the nose and chin. I currently have a Trilogy that has been the only Nolan that I am unhappy with. Just too much noise. It roars like a freight train. I just bought a Shoei rf1000 to replace it. Much quieter. Any one wanting the white, large Trilogy, can pm me and i will make a deal on it. Curt

Oh well, if you give up the smokes you could buy a kit for your scoot, and if you buy a chinese one you would be too busy trying to get it running to bother about smoking lol.  ;)
