...no bbk until something breaks...

..next step is the variator, without a doubt..i need a new one, and i might as well go bigger...

..i'm still mot sure about the gears, as i don't want to lose bottom end take-off speed...

..wondering if i could turn enough rpms to make gears effective without a bbk...

With the bigger carb and free-flowing exhaust you might be able to turn the gears.  It's all in the cvt tuning!  Might be worth a try

..true, and even if it didn't, i'd be set for when i do go with a bbk...

..imma get me the bigger variator...might order it tomorrow....

..seems such a waste of capabilities for that to be my limiting factor....

..another btw, it turns out that this is a CVK brand carb...

..haven't googled them yet, so anybody had any experience with one?

No doubt my Brother! That overrange var will give you the same effect as going w/ a gear set only you will lose nothing on the bottom. It will give you a few more mph on top.

..when i bought this ride, it would do 37mph..at BEST downhill with a wind....

...so, i decided to try the 5.5 gram rollers with the bigger carb....

..not too bad...

...

..i think i could tune the needle to increase take-off speeds, and i really felt the torque difference at..and just off WOT...

..tomorrow is another day...

That's where you want to feel it. Bottom end torque is good, but feeling it at the top is best!

...yeah, so i'm able to generate a bit more horsepower, but if i can't get a greater ratio between the drive and the  driven pulley's, then it's all in vain...

..a belt can only ride so high on the drive pulley...

..a few engine rpms and a bit of increase in torque doesn't matter if you can't put it to the pavement...
