...Welcome to th' Forum Orbitz...

..i just installed a 20mm carb on my A50, and immediately had to up-size the main jet..

..came with a "95" and i'm now at a 101...

..i'd suspect you would need to increase your jet size also..

..then do some plug chops to fine tune the fuel mix...

..i'd love to hear more about this 24mm carb as you go along...

peace

My thought is there may not be enough vacuum to run the 24mm. Can you get it to rev at all? does it run at ANY throttle position? (1/4 throttle,1/2 throttle, 3/4) Slinger may be right on the jetting, and these ?'s will help figure it out.

...wow z, hadn't thought of that...

..but with a 50mm cylinder, wouldn't that increase the vacuum?

Depends on the head/pipe...It may have great compression, but squat for vacuum.

Hi m8s!

The airsal kit runs with stock head, and has a lot of compression... it will only start by kickstarter... the electric start doesn´t have enough strenght...lol
I can rev it only 1\4 of throttle, anything more than that it will choke... :P
The carb came with a 105 gigluer, and I thought it would be plug and go....big mistake hehehehe

I have already ordered 2 jet kits and a machined spacer for the intake, to try to solve the diffrence in diameters ;)

I was going to ask how it was adapted. Can you hook a vacuum gauge to it at idle to get a reading? I would compare that reading to the # where it falls off, or just before to verify the carb can be used. If I went 2mm bigger my scoot won't even idle. My concern is the valve size on yours. A vacuum gauge is cheap, and will tell you everything there is to know on a 4t

A vacuum gauge is cheap

..speaking of vacuum..i guess i've handled the tubing so much during my NUMEROUS rejettings, that i created a split in the hose, that i take loose to suck fuel back into my carb after re-assembly...

..found it a lil while ago...it was back where my fingers would be, as i grip the hose to remove it from the fitting..

..i'm going to install a cpl of 1/4" valves and a T, so i don't have to handle the main vacuum hoses any more...

Not a bad idea! That would make a good hook up point for a gauge as well.

back again.... and pissed... ???

got my new jets, and the problem stays the same...

i tried from the 88 to 105 gig and wouldnt rev.

if i put my hand on the carb intake, when I tried to rev it, it throws gasoline back at my hand and chokes.

does the needle position have anything to do with this?

really pissed off...

now i´m thinking to swap it for a 19 or 20mm carb.... will it fit the original head intake?

the sound of the leovince exhaust is soooooo sweet!!!

cheers

The 20mm will fit. That is most likely the cure to your trouble. The 24mm will work w/ a 70cc or bigger jug kit. Its kinda like sucking thru a straw vs a paper towel tube. Your engine cannot create  enough vacuum to pull fuel thru the main jet.

I´VE GOT IT!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

The little orbit is pumpin gas on the 24 cvk hehehehe

I was thinking all wrong... it was way to lean. I raised the needle to the max and installed the 106gig.

throttle response is just brutal hehehe

now I want to adjust the clutch springs and then work my way to adjusting the carb.guess i will need to go to 108 or 110 main jet.

I´ve got an airsal 80cc.

my mom thought that went home with an atv lolol

way to loud 8)
