I've never needed a clutch compressor to take mine apart.  It takes two people without though.  I break the big nut free then set the clutch on the floor or bench and squeeze it together while someone un-threads the nut the rest of the way.  The same in reverse for putting it back together.

..i tried it once, without any tool, by myself...

..took me 20 minutes to find the nut...

..it was 30 ft away on the other side of the shop...

 ;D :D ;D

..btw, a 1-1/2" wrench or socket fits the nut okay...

Well, well, well....I decided to put everything back together, again, take a scoot down to Autozone to pick up the c-clamp vise grip......brought it home, took the cover off, again, and finally...and I mean FINALLY, I got it!  Put everything back together...fired her up, went up the small hill to get to the flat level ground....48mph (on the speedo at least)!!!!!!!!!  Thank you all for the help!  Can't wait for the morning to go to work and really open her up!  G'nite!

On my way to work, which used to take around 40-45min before last night, there are a good amount of small hills.  Couldn't wait to get to the first one to see what would happen.  I wish I had a way to strap either my phone or a camera to my helmet because when I looked down, my eyes almost popped out of my head....completely buried speedo!  It's great to be able to keep up w/ traffic on such a busy street, you know?!  So, with that said, what should be the next mod I do?  I'd like to have a little more power up hill and at the take off.

Upgrade your clutch's fly springs, and the main torque spring.  That's my next upgrade as well, i'm just looking to find some metal to make a tool to open the clutch bolt lol.

shubonker is right...try some Leo Vince blue "+ 15%" fly clutch springs, and a malossi white "1000" main torque drive spring..

..Leo Vince 4.7 gram roller weights work well with that setup too...

Boy, my wife and son aren't going to be too happy with me!   ;D  I told them both yesterday, that as soon as I finish the last mod I wanted to do (the boss last night), that I'll be done and they won't have to worry about me tinkering w/ my scooter anymore.... :)

Anyway...I did a couple searches for both of the parts you listed sling, but it seems there's many different sizes for different scooters out there.  Since you have the same scooter as me, could you post direct links for me?  Also, after I do these mods, will there be any concern about "over-doing-it" when it comes to the engine?  Do I need to change anything in terms of air flow...anything?  Thanks again!

btw...the vise grips weren't that bad when trying to get the variator off, but I'm going for it and getting that impact wrench!  Shu...if you have a Harbor Freight near you, they have an electric for only $49, on sale, right now....just a thought..

"Also, after I do these mods, will there be any concern about "over-doing-it" when it comes to the engine?  Do I need to change anything in terms of air flow...anything?  Thanks again!"   I would suggest buying 2-3 new spark plugs to check your fuel ratio. You can get into rpm's the factory main jet cannot supply enough fuel for. Put in a NEW plug, and ride at wot for 60 seconds. shut the scoot, and look at the color of the plug. It should be a toasty/tan color. If it is white you will need to up-size the main jet.

..yeah, what z said, and as far as "over-doing"...i dunno..

..i've been pushing my scoot to it's "limits" for a long time...

..the restrictions put in place are for speed laws...

..not to inhibit damage..
