So after reading what everyone wrote in response, I decided to not do the deal.  Yea sure, I could get my liciense and reg it, but in the end, one of my main reasons for getting a scooter was to NOT have to worry about doing just that.  I'll take the $500 and put it into Babe....get the new springs, new rollers, update the air flow..etc....

So, with that said, I'm going to be asking a ton of questions over the next few weeks....slinger, I know you posted some links for me to get me started for springs and such, any chance you, or someone, can send me a DIRECT link to exactly what I need for faster up hill mods?

Thanks again for everyones replies!  It's a tough deal to let go, but last thing I need is to have a mountain of charges and no scooter!

Good decision Brian, 500 will go a long way for your "babe".  However, Slinger posted up some uhhh not so noisy exhaust pipes.  I want mine to make a loud sound, so i'm ordering me one of these in the coming weeks, http://www.scootertronics.com/ncy50exhaust.html

I want people to know i'm on the road, so i need to make as much sound as i can, haha.

Also, getting a new pipe means more air flow right?  Which means you would need to go up in  jet size?

Thanks slinger and shu!  Shu, I live in a very quiet neighborhood, so, the quieter the better for me! ;D  Sling, which of the 2 sets of springs do you recommend?  I've read in some of your posts that you are running 1000's now...what's the difference?  Is there a huge difference?  What size main jet do you recommend?  And again, thank you!

..it's hard to say...you should ptobably get both, and experiment with different setups until you find what works best for you...

..yeah, man..

..as far as the difference in springs, a heavier torque drive spring puts more pressure against your belt, allows your scoot to stay revved higher during slow-downs, and keeps it revving higher longer during acceleration..

..stiffer fly spring makes your scoot rev higher before they engage the clutch bell...

..as far as a main jet, performing plug chops is the only way to determine that..

..as a rule of thumb, installing a free-flow filter will require 2-3 jet sizes larger, but that's not definite...

..i would say the same for installing an aftermarket exhaust..2-3 size increase...

No wonder you didn't have any trouble getting the metal for that clutch tool.  Hey you want to make me one?  I'll pay you for it.
