That is a good link, but personally I would rather something a little more definate to hold the spring, especially during reassembly, you don't always have a second person around to help.
However I may even use that method if I need to.

...i'm not sure i would want to put a chain wrench on my clutch pads either...but a strap wrench would work...

...i have dis-assembled one time by myself without a compressor tool...

..don't want to do that again...

The easiest way for me is to loosen the bell nut first. (clutch still on the scoot) Them remove the clutch, and stand on the bell w/ both feet. You can remove the nut, and press down w/ one palm, and it comes right up w/ no suprises. Unless you are working on the second six pack... Then you get a split lip to remember it by. (Not that it ever happened to me!)

I was referring to the clutch holder to get the bolt off.  I've already got the compression tool covered.

My bad... What I do is wrap a bungee around the rear brake lever. That locks up the clutch shaft. Either use an impact to remove the nut, or use a long ratchet handle, and hit it w/ a hammer to shock it loose. either one works fine
