Is the Downtown or Xciting 300i coming to the States?
« on: May 30, 2010, 09:26:53 PM »
Does anyone know if the Downtown or Xciting 300i coming to the States? I'm going to be looking to upgrade from the Yager to larger ride by the end of this year or the beginning of next. I feel the 250 is to small for a lot of highway riding and the 500 to large, if they aren't going to be coming to the states I'll have to look into the Majesty or Burg.

You can buy it in Croatia for 6 months now. The problem is pricing.

Downtown 300i costs the same as Xciting 500 did a year ago.
Xciting 500 now seems to be 20 % more expensive.

I'm not much of fan of SYM products. The tires on it seem to be too skinny for me, 2 front disk brakes should be the order of the day considering the speed it is capable of, needs an adjustable back support for the rider and a back rest for the passenger. The one thing I really don't like with any scooter is when the instruments are part of the handle bars, I like them to remain stationary when I'm maneuvering the bike. Thanks for the info tho. ;)
BTW, how is your ride doing?

The agility's doing great.  No problems so far, been riding the heck out of it.  Bought some stuff to tune it and give it a bit more pep.

Good to hear that you and your ride are doing good. Are you near Brooklyn at all?

I test rode the sym the day I tried out my kymco.  It was a nice ride but I think it is one of the 275 300's, not a real 300.  The turn signals have a very nice loud clicking when engaged - I need that - my Kymco makes some noise and if I wasn't listening to my radio on helmet speakers I could probably hear them - I hate forgetting to turn my signals off - feel like a real doo doo.  I liked the ps250 better than the sym 300 and bought the kymco.

I shot off Kymco an email and they responded with "Coming soon" to my question about the Downtown 300i, I hope this is true. The Downtown is a true 300 machine where the Xciting I believe is a 278 machine.

NHF ispud, but listening to radio/music while driving a 2-wheeler is one of the most stupid things you could do while riding a bike, except for being drunk or not wearing a helmet, gloves and a jacket.
