Thinking of buying a 2013 leftover super 8 - need advice!!

A dealer near me has a new super 8 150 that I can buy out the door for 1750, selling price is 1450 + tax, doc fee, tags, etc.  they are not adding prep fees or anything else.  Bike is new with under 5 miles on it.  Is this a good deal?  I read about Chinese made vs Taiwanese and also about lack of tires for this model, etc.  and the new models are out, any differences between 2013 vs 2015/6?  I was originally looking for a used 125 Zuma in the same price range but this new super 8 is cheaper, and comes with the full warranty.  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.  I currently own an agility 50 which is too slow for me.  Thanks!  Also I noticed that msrp on the 2013 is 2500 and msrp on the 2015 is 2300.  Did they lower the price?  New model is the 150r.

The price difference might just be the current strength of the dollar versus the Asian market.

2013 Super 8 150 was $2499.00 MSRP
2014 Super 8 150 was $2499.00 MSRP
2015 New style Super 8 150R is $2199.00, the X Model is $2299.00 MSRP
2016 New Style Super 8 150r is $1999.00, the X model is $2099.00 MSRP
Kymco just implemented a MSRP reduction at the beginning of the month. Both the 2015's and 2016's should both be at the new lower price as there  is apparently rebates on 2015 to bring the price down.There are also rebates on 2013's, 14's.
The price you've been quoted is a steal...buy it.

Thanks, I am going to buy it.  I couldn't find any rebates for 2013 year.  Found low 1.9 financing, if you know where to look for rebates please let me know.  That would be the icing ...

Also, is it just me, but the old style super 8 is way better than the new.  Any one else share this view?  Why did they change it??

If it is a new, never sold 2013, the dealer is most likely including the rebate in the sale price, which is common.

I think that the price drop is also due to the fact that the older Super 8 was a "sportbike" styled scooter with 14 inch wheels. The newer Super 8 is really a jazzed up version of the Agility with a 150cc engine and 12 inch wheels. The Agility 125 already was one of the lowest priced scooters available from a major Taiwan manufacturer. It was one of the first of the Kymcos built in mainland China.

Hey man I just picked up the same super 8 for a little higher price 2 months ago. It's def a good price for what your getting. Unfortunately, mine is back at the dealer due to stalling issues. Hoping they get it figured out so I can start to enjoy this great scooter. I def agree the style is better than newer years. Once I get this issue resolved I am going to get most of my plastics matte black because I do really like the color scheme of the 2015 super 8.

If anyone else has any feedback on the super 8 (previous version), please chime in.  Been reading online and get mixed reviews.  Mostly concerned about longevity, especially since this was made in China and not Taiwan.  I would definitely cost more, but a used Yamaha or Honda be better?  I see Honda pcx's going for 2300 near me, can't find a used Zuma anywhere (it was the Zuma that I really wanted, but new they are over 3k.  I have always been a fan of buying quality.  Kymco has always been a quality manufacturer, but we don't know the long term outcome of the scoots being built in China.  I guess I fell that after 2 years under warranty, all the kinks should be worked out.  Thing is in 2 years, I will probably only have at most 2k miles on it.  My commute is pretty short.  And also my nearest dealer is 45 minutes away ...  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!!

Ok, I bought it.  My previous ride was an agility 50, what a difference.  Out the door, brand new for 1710.  If anyone  else is interested in the same, they have a few more left. Salesman told me that Kymco pulled these machines from a different dealership and gave them to this one.  The one I bought was brand new, not a scratch on it. Trying to be good during the break-in period, not easy to do.

I think you'll be satisfied. The price is good for no miles and a two year warranty. A friend of mine just picked up a people 250 the same way (new/old stock).

I bought my 2009 Super 8 150 in 2010 and now have nearly 22,000 miles on it.  I don't baby it and run it pretty hard.  I have had a few problems with it but the motor, CVT, brakes and suspension have held up great.  Although I think that the Japanese made scooters are higher build quality, I think the Super 8 is a better scooter in many ways.  I'm 6-2 and fit on the S-8 while most of the small Japanese scooters have seating positions that don't work for me.  The S-8 doesn't have the funky linked brakes that the Hondas have.  Unfortunately there is no longer a Kymco dealer near me so this may be my last Kymco
