The best valve clearance for Agility 50 -2015
« on: March 29, 2016, 07:20:16 PM »
Hello folks

What are the optimal  valve clearance for Agility 50 -2015

The Handbook says 0.04 in and out, is that the best?

The shop set it for med after i didnt have any idle, stopped everytime i didnt have any gas.
Now it´s very difficult to start cold.

So i was thinking of trying to set them myself, its  now 0.05 in and out.

The only change on it is a unristricted CDI

Should 04 make any difference compared to 05 on top?

If you can I would do 05 on bottom.reason for this is the bottom valve heats up more and wokrs its way down to almost the 04 range . Larger on bottom valve is always good.

Ok, got the clearence right, still very hard to start,
5-6 times at 15-20sek before it starts.
When its starts it take 3-5min to take off.
I have good throttle , until it gets warm,
then the throtle is to high, with spinning wheel.
If a adjust it right, the damn thing wont start at all when its cold.
Ive tried different Cdi , orginal and 2 different unrestricted.
No difference.
Spark is ok.
Ive read that a lot of people have problems with their
stock carburetor and changed it and everything works fine.
But im not sure that us the problem.
Ive had it to workshop for the 1000km service and they said:
Somethings not right with this scooter and they couldn't sollve the problem.
Any suggestions from the pro's here what i could try?

Bought it Oct 15
1300km on the meter
Only change is Variator weights DrPulley 5.5
 (tried with stocks 6.5 also)
Ive take

with that many miles on a used scoot. I would take my time and check everything I can. plug gap. air leaks gas lines. clean carb. make sure the 2 bolts on the manifold is tight but don't over tighten. best way to check all of this is while the scoot is running. spray carb cleaner all over the outside and around the carb. the scoot will bog down if you hit a air leak with it. even try it on the air box.

I gave up yesterday and took i to the shop and said, this is a new scooter with the services done, please fix it and call me..

He tried it for 5 minutes and then said, we will order a new carb and try, so i´l guess i get it back next week.

Many miles @blue ? Is 1300km a lot for a scooter?

Thanks for your tips mate, glad that your willing to help.

Did your Dealer put a bigger main jet in? 85 or 88? If not the bigger jet would richen it up which may help it start & possibly bring the idle down after it warms up because it wouldn't be so lean to meet emissions standards. Also like Blue said check for an intake leak which would also make it run lean &
 high idle & hard starting.
My wife never asked, " can you make it go faster?" until we bought a 4 stroke Moped. My reply, "yes dear"

Have theam check the choke if its sticking that could be it too.or try running the scoot with it unplugged.

Hello
I have now changed to Malossi variator kit, but couldnt change the spring couse the nut wouldn loose, grrr

So i have tried with only the Variator with the 6g weights and im very disappointed.

With the org Cdi its slower (38km flat), then the orginal variator with 6.5  (48km flat)
With the trimCdi its not going very good at all, late (almost none)reaction in the start and have problem between 80-100% gas/throttle, its reacting as it doesnt get any air.

Bye the way, the Boss was around 3-4 mm shorter than the the one i had, how does that affect?

Do i have to put the shimwasher there as explained 19:13 into the Video?

This video shows that you put it in first, before the variator?

Its confusing, right now i havnt put it anywhere

Maybe, i´l talk to the local dealer to see if he can put in a 70cc bore insted

Should i take away the exhaust plug that sits in the air filter holder?

Atleast im glad for that it starts and runs good in orginal...

Take "baby steps" when changing anything on a 50cc scooter.  The factory clearances (0.7mm) work best always.  The factory Kymco carb is the best, if it won't start it's just a minor adjustment.  Be careful removing Kymco hoses - small changes upset the balance of everything.  Changing rollers won't make it go faster, only the acceleration changes.  Top speed is restricted by the Kymco CDI (which is reliable but slow), but changing the CDI needs experience since there' so many different models, some of which are excellent, but some are a real pain as you have discovered.  If you don't know any real Kymco tuning experts, you have to do your own research (which is often expensive when you're using forums for advice!).
