Join us on Saturday, May 28th for the 3rd Annual 2016 Memorial Day Weekend Scooter Ride. It's a beautiful 75 mile ride leaving from my home in Port Murray, NJ to the Delaware Water Gap and back. There will be gas and a lunch stop along the way. This event is open to anyone with a 125cc or greater scooter. The ride departs at 10AM and concludes around 4PM. At our Blessing of the Bikes in  a couple of weeks I am hoping to find some other scooter riders.
In a good year I might spot 6 or 7 scooters during the 12 months.

I wish there was something like this in my area. Being in a college town, I see a LOT of 50cc Chinese scooters and a few 150 cc scooters. But I can count on one hand the number of 250cc and above scooters of ANY make. I didn't even know that larger scooters existed until a few months before I purchased mine.

The motorcycle riding groups barely allow non Harley riders to be included even though they normally ride at sub 65 mph. A scooter would gain Zero respect from the vast majority of them.

Just a little more background re. the ride.......Even though this is the 3rd year of the ride, my wife and I have hosted this ride for the last 14 years. For the first 11 years, the ride was open to both mopeds and small displacement scooters, but three years ago, we decided to make it a  scooter only ride because we wanted a faster and longer ride, as well as a ride with less breakdowns. With just having 125cc+ scooters participate, we are now able to keep up with all vehicular traffic along the ride route, as well as extend the ride to over 75 miles. Last year we had about a dozen and a half riders. This year we are hoping to double that amount.

Wish I could make it ScooterLar, unfortunately work just got crazy and I have to miss the fun.  Looks like an awesome ride though, have fun and ride safe!

NJRider, Sorry you can't make it. We do it every Memorial Day Weekend so there's always next year.

This is actually our 14th year hosting an organized ride. The first 11 years it was a mopeds only ride, and then we converted it to a 125cc+ scooter ride three years ago.

Wish I could make it ScooterLar, unfortunately work just got crazy and I have to miss the fun.  Looks like an awesome ride though, have fun and ride safe!
