Hey there! I'm DJ,  I live SW of Seattle, WA   

I'm a newbie scooter owner. I normally spend my summers on the back of my guy's Harley Ultra Glide Classic or out on our Polaris RZR.... But, I've wanted to get a scooter for many years, ever since I rented a little Honda Metropolitan on a visit to Victoria B.C.  Well I finally pulled the trigger (15 years later)!

I picked up my shiny new 2015 Like 200i today (blue/black) with 1 mile on it. We hauled it home in the back of the pickup. It has a whopping 4.7 miles on it now!

I relinquished my mc license several years ago due to lack of riding, so I'll be spending all of next weekend at the MC Safety course in attempt to get my endorsement.

I plan on taking off the emblems, potentially putting on pinstripes or a racing stripe and adding a windshield. I'm interested in learning how to take care of this little bugger.

I'll mostly ride it around my town, probably no highway use, and then pack it with us in our toy hauler when we go camping. 

Looking forward to pouring through posts here and pictures. I'm sure I'll have questions when I start getting time on it (and sunshine). Here's to many miles of fun!

You've a nice scooter for tooling around! Thanks for the picture....never tired of scooter pictures here.
We like to keep track of what these are selling for as time goes by.
Do you mind telling us what the dealer's price was "out the door", and the birth date of your scooter (from the sticker on the bike, 2012, 2013, 2015, etc.?)
I found my sticker up under the right rear of the side body panel....tells the month and year of assembly if I remember correctly. Used a flash light. (dealer sold to me as a 2013 - but sticker said was made in 2012)

You are lucky - this scooter is very easy to service. Engine and rear gear oil changes. Spark plug, valve adjustment. Easier than many! Follow the owner's manual for servicing.
That new Engine oil comes out at 200 miles, then again at 600 miles --- then every 1200 miles.
Do this and keep the valves in specs and she will run a good long time for you.

What does your dealer do, and charge, at his first service??
Most won't change the oil until 600 and likely won't touch the valves if it sounds and runs OK at 600 miles.

Hi Stig,

date of birth for "Sunny" is April 2015. I'm not sure what "out the door" price means, but the sticker price was $2488. tax is 9% in the county where I purchased it.

I paid $135 for a windscreen (which is on order) and I have a Dowco 50011-00 Guardian Scooter cover on it's way from Amazon ($40). I'm looking for a rally stripe but can't decide on a color (probably will go with white) since the bike is blue/black...

I didn't want to use the full face helmet I use on the Harley on this, so I planned on buying an open face helmet. I was surprised this morning when my guy handed me a new Nolan helmet! Woot!

More pictures coming. I'm looking for an excuse to take a ride this afternoon, since the sun is shining.

Thanks for the advice on service. The dealer wasn't very helpful in this area, but I didn't care cause they had the best price in the area.  I'm guessing I can learn to do the oil changes myself or find another place closer to home for service.

Welcome aboard DJ and congratulations on your new ride. Find any excuse you can to ride. It's addicting. Lately I've been riding my 2012 Like 70 to 100 miles at a stretch in search of new places to ride. For me backroads are the way to go. Look into a subscription with Cyclepedia. Their online service manual for the Like is pretty good. Makes doing DIY a snap!

Word of caution, the tires that come with the Like aren't the best for wet pavement. So please take a little care when riding wet roads. Also, it's a good idea to check as many of the fasteners for tightness. I lost one of the mounting bolts to the air cleaner box and a bolt anchoring the starter electrical cable which caused sporadic starting and stalling issues until it was discovered.

I find the belt, rollers and slides need replacing every 6,000 miles, but YMMV.
