I agree with Tries. Removing the choke will allow the max fuel through the system. It will do exactly what you have been fearing. The choke works by the element inside being heating electrically. That causes the needle to extend slightly and restrict the bystarter fuel flow. If you remove the choke or unplug it, you will be in a too rich situation. The needle needs to be in to restrict the fuel. Your problem may not be the choke at all. Did you try the simple (and cheap) things first? Plugs, valves, etc. After that would check to make sure the bystarter (choke) is getting electrical current when the ignition is on. Good luck!
