well that was scary
« on: June 04, 2010, 11:09:24 AM »
last night at about 10pm i was riding home got about 2 mins away and my and my head light shut off

thankfully my high beam was still working and i was close to home
(btw since none of you know i live out in the boonies and for the last half of my ride home there is not a single street light)

so do you think its the bulb or the switch?

...bulb....you can verify by holding the toggle switch in the "Flash" position which should make both the high and low beam filaments light up...

..you can also visually inspect the filaments in the bulb...

..if it's the bulb, one set will be burned...

Well at least you've put some decent mileage on it before it burned out.

The bulb is about $7.00. I put in a 35watt halogen for $3.00 and like it better.

All about scooters, (the local dealer) wanted 7 bucks. I bought the halogen at Ace Hardware. It is one of those fog lamp bulbs. It took a little tweaking to fit, but it was a 15 minute job, and is MUCH brighter. Get the 35 amp bulb. ANYTHING bigger will burn out your stator.
