How many spare parts do you stock?
« on: May 28, 2016, 01:25:13 AM »
Recent post on spare valve cover gaskets started me thinking about my stocks of spare parts for my LIKE200i.
I guess I'm planning to keep it for a good while since I've collected so many new parts to use when needed.

All parts are OEM KYMCO parts from the kymcopartsmonster, buggy partsnw and bet&losin's shop:
3 belts (2 new)
coil
Spark plug lead and cap
NGK & DENSO Iridium plugs
2 or 3 Valve cover gaskets
injector
fully assembled clutch
clutch bell
Dr Pulley sliders and OEM rollers (13g & 14g)
oil screen,spring, O-ring and cap
main drain plug & washers
big nuts for both ends of CVT w/new washers
headlight, running, turn & tail light bulbs
orig nearly new Kenda tires
orig seat
battery (3 lightly used)
orig top case
orig mirrors
orig fuel pump & filters
full set of brake pads & new clips
caliper pins
dip stick
pair of exhaust nuts
several pounds of reclaimed hoses, wires, clips, bolts, screws, nuts, washers, etc. - from a parted-out eBay LIKE200i

...probably more, some place.

Just stuff I've slowly gathered over the past 3 yrs -
I ride it weekdays for @ 1.5 hrs. (the Burgman for w/e highway runs of @ 2.5 hrs)
This Chinese assembled scooter has fooled me with how few parts have failed - just the throttle position sensor (free under warranty). The seat, mirrors and top case & tires were replaced for comfort or perceived ride-safe reasons.

Pretty good scooter - esp. at the left-over prices that can be found these days!!

I try to keep the spare parts that I need the most. that I might go threw. Or what I think I will be replacing  next.I keep extra plugs and plug wires .And extra belts on the scoot at all times. If I know I might need a part I try to get it befor it gos bad. id rather replace something new then fix the part and put it back on. Like the carb. New is better.
tires I have and everything for the clutch I have if needed.

Spare belt, air filters, oil, etc. Mostly maintenance items. Also have spare sliders and a variator that I someone gave me as a replacement for an Agility 125 or Movie 150.
That variator face is a little smaller, but would work on the Like. The move able drive, drive boss and ramp plate are the same as the Like. FYI.

Being a DIYer, I buy my service parts (oil, filters etc.) to have on hand for when my service is due. Other than that all I have are factory parts I have replaced (top case, tires etc).  I wouldn't keep these, but have no luck selling them even though they are in excellent condition.

OK, I just talked to Colt, from kymcopartsmonster. He looked up my vin# for me and said the US models would be 300i SK60AD on their website. I guess the 300i SK60AH is the European model. He was a nice gentleman from North Carolina. I hope this helps anyone, who was wondering

Thanks for posting!
Yes, I've talked to those folks a number of times over the years. Very helpful.
We've both had good laughs at some of my dumb questions in the beginning of my KYMCO scooter ownership. (not that I can't still get stupid !)
