Valve stem
« on: May 29, 2016, 12:30:03 AM »
On the front tire of my Like the valve stem is 90 degrees for ease of access whereas the rear is standard. Yesterday while checking the pressure the front stem moved side to side. I don't recall that happening before, but I generally hold the stem while getting a reading. I checked for a leak around the stem, but there was none. Is the stem suppose to pivot from side to side?

Yes, mine does the same if I don't support it. (I'm assuming you don't mean that it is able to spin or pivot around in a circle in the hole of the rim?)
It doesn't leak - I always stipulate installing new valve stems with every new tire.

It would be nice if the rear tire had the 90 degree bent valve stem. It is a little awkward to get to.

I'm able to pivot it side to side approx  170 degrees.

"It would be nice if the rear tire had the 90 degree bent valve stem. It is a little awkward to get to."

The next time I replace my tires I'm going to have both rims mounted with new 90 degree stem.

Yeah, I bought a psi gauge with a  right angle tip on a short hose.....
Have been told that angled air nipples are stressed at high speeds.....which is the singular reason I never go for any land-speed-records on my LIKE200iLX.
