Took the DT for a short, little ride. Wanted to get some pics of the skyline. I was hoping to get the battleships in for fleet week, but they dock further down the West SIde Highway now. In a more somber moment, a P-47 Thunderbolt went down in the Hudson on Friday evening. NYPD tug boat pulling up wreckage. In there also, is 1 of the finished Freedom Towers, which I just recently visited. Truly moving experience. Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys the photos

Love the pictures, pipster! Great shots of the NYC skyline. And the P-47! Made my heart break to see it in that condition, but at least they recovered it. (We live next to the Warhawk Air Museum, and that very plane flew in here to an air show a few years ago.)

That plane was actually flying in for a Memorial Day air show in Long Island, NY. It went down Friday evening while practicing with other planes. Unfortunately the pilot did not survive. Witnesses have said the pilot did an amazing job of putting down in the water, instead of crowded city streets. Sounds like a Hero to me

Oh, geez, so tragic.  :'( That pilot is a hero for not endangering the lives of others on the ground.

Man what a nice looking scooter. I think the 300cc bikes are the sweet spot of scooters and the new 300cc breed of motorcycles has replaced the more enemic older 250cc class of Honda and Kawasaki bikes too.  I can see one of those in my future.

Agreed....the Honda 300F at $3999 is a great bike! Get it in RED!

Took a ride to Liberty state park, got as close as could, from the Jersey side. Also Ellis island and tribute to 9/11  victims.

So many cool things to see there. Thanks for posting your great photos for the rest of us. I think that's the best way for me to see NYC  - I'd be overwhelmed in a place like that, but your photos are giving us a great look at the city without the crowds. Keep riding!

Did you ride the DT downtown NYC!? It would have been near impossible to ride and watch all the sideshows like those last two frames!!

I did take the DT, Probably the first and last time I do!! ( it's nuts over there). I had to put it in my buddy's parking garage. I would've definitely had an oopsie, on those last 2 frames while driving. Had a great time, but bad idea to take the DT. I will go again and have the DT in some shots. It was just too crazy this weekend. God bless America!!!!!
