Like seat modification
« on: June 04, 2016, 03:51:04 AM »
The seat cover and stripes arrived today so I set the cover in the sun to warm it up while I gave the scooter a bath. Getting the cover on was pretty easy and I love the color against the blue/black of the scooter. I also applied the stripes on the top box.  A few tiny bubbles even after I applied heat. Not sure if I will redo or if they"ll calm down on their own in the sun.

Boyfriend reaction: Well, they'll see you!

Hahaha.  I hope so.

Really like your seat with that color....kinda like some that Vespa does in leather. Classy looking. So they make custom covers for exact fit on some kymcos?
Stretch fit....tight...won't shift under your bum?
Looks good. ...well done cat!

Yes, custom seat covers made when ordered. Their customer svc is stellar as well.
No. No shifting under me. :)

It has been awhile since I lived near the border - but if I did - I'd take my rebuilt LIKE seat down to Mexico and have them stitch me up a pretty fancy seat for very little dinero!

djpo:  Are they from www.scooterseatcovers.net/ (Cheeky Seats)?  And do they eliminate the issues that so many riders have with the stock Like 200i seats?  Can any padding that is part of the cover resolve any of the humps and valleys that taller people dislike with the 200i seats?  Thanks.

I do not think so.
I had to add so much foam - that I can now sit directly on that tail-bone aching plastic seat-pan lump and not even feel it. I think I am sitting on it....can't feel anything, and I'm 6'3" with my knees away from the bars.
See my pix of the bare seat pan - easy to spot the troubling hump in the pan.

Stig   Thanks for all of the information - it's a lot to digest before I get started.  The only question left to ask to you and the others that took up the challenge to make the needed changes is, "If you could do it all over, what changes would you make?"  Much of the work for many of you was 3 years ago.  Thanks for all the great pictures, too.
