rear handlebar cover on 2008 People S 200
« on: June 04, 2016, 05:00:45 PM »
???I installed a new carburetor on my '08 Peoples S 200 and after re-installing the covers and starting up engine the headlight would not come on and right front turn signal has no voltage. I tried to take off the rear handlebar cover and with all tabs unfastened as per repair manual the windshield came off easily but the rear cover would not detach from frame. Any suggestions ?

do you mean the handlebar cover facing the rider? If so, I had to loosen that to change my brake fluid. The 2 bolts/screws on either side, down low come out but you have to pull out, fairly hard on the cover to get it over those screw/bolt holes. So pull it out to clear the holes, then pull it back toward the driver (assuming you've removed all other screws).
Does this make sense?

Thanks Iahawk, I will give that a try. I am always afraid of muscling on plastic parts for fear of breaking them and then big costs to replace them. Why would Kymco make it so hard to get to the headlight and instruments panel?
