Ride Home
« on: June 17, 2016, 10:53:02 PM »
Last night after work I decided to take Coast Highway up through Corona Del Mar over Balboa Island across on the ferry to the Balboa Peninsula and back home. Nice evening and only stopped for a few photos. Sorry about the camera visible in the rear view mirror.

That brings back memories. Lived in Newport Beach back in 69 and rode that ferry many times over to Balboa Island. Loaded my 66 Honda 305 Scrambler on her. The ferry was close enough to my apt. that I also often walked to it and would stroll around the island and look at all the cool houses and how the other half lived.

BTW, I'm still learning about the various Kymco scooters. Which model is that, because it's a fine looking Maxiscooter? You ever have folks pull over ahead of you thinking you were a cop? The motorcycle cops is Austin, TX ride white Honda ST 1300's. I've been known to pull over for a white bike coming up fast behind me.

First moved here back in '78 for two years (lived in Balboa on the beach boardwalk) and then back again in 84 in Costa Mesa, been here ever since. It was fun as a kid living on the beach/peninsula.

It's the MyRoad 700i which I'd gather the engine is the one Kymco now makes for the BMW scooters but had before them. I like it's futuristic Judge Dredd police kinda look. Can't say I've noticed anyone (they might have) do that with this bike but I have felt like that when I'm riding my pearl white Burgman 650, it's kinda funny. :) I know what you mean, I will slow down if I can't recognize the bike coming up from behind.
