Will not start.. please help

I have a 2012 super 8 150 I bought off a friend.. he bought it new 4 yrs ago never had any problems with it.. now after sitter over a year it won't start.. I replaced the spark plug and put fresh gas in it turns over has spark, sometimes it will start for 5 seconds and die as soon as I give it gas.. Im getting gas to the carb as I checked that the lines were pumping to it.. but I've never messed with a carb before so idk what to do after that.. any ideas suggestions anything helps Thank you for your time

You have zero choice here.
The carb must come off, and every orifice cleaned.
Use carb cleaner, and strip a piece of wire to get a single strand to push through some of the Jets and openings.
Watch the float, don't drop it.
There will be youtube video on the subject.
Have a big space inside, paper or tarp laid down, and even take pics as you progress with dissembling.
Be very careful with the gaskets so you don't tear them.
With this careful method, you will be up and running again.
