« on: June 09, 2010, 11:18:03 AM »
You can always count on Kymco to come out with new or improved scooters.I ran across the new Agility R16i 200(not 125) over at Motoblog.Although not in English there is plenty of pics to view or you can translate the article. The big question as always, will we in the US get it? Cross your fingers!

Agility 200i, 11 hp. Barely +2hp compared to 125cc Agility engine.

My Beverly 200 had 20 hp...

..and was actually 200cc and water cooled, which this one probably isn't.
I can't open the web site quoted above so..

I don't know if our local (.hr) kymco web site is accurate, but the current 200i
equipped scooters are New Dink and Like. First one is supposedly water cooled
and produces 15hp and is actually 176cc, and the Like is 163cc and air cooled.

Both of them are obviously not meant for speed/stoplight to stoplight racing, but
for comfortable city riding.

The Agility 200i with 11hp should be noticeably faster then the 125cc version (probably
on par with 150cc that we don't get anyways), and SHOULD need less fuel then the 125
cc per mile, and that's a Win/Win situation for me and what I need from a city scooter.

11 hp is 11 hp... and it will be "1.5 hp faster" than 9.5 hp, however you put it... and twice as costly in initial purchase price.

Until 2010 Kymco had edge over Italian scoots because it was 30 % cheaper... from 2010 gamma on, Kymco costs the same as Italians.
I do not exactly like that sales policy, especially because it was introduced in the middle of the worst financial recession in the last century.

I think they will sell around zero Downtowns and 700i when they come here, and it already shows because importer does not sell some models that are sold outside of Croatia because they are too expensive. People 300i, for example.

True/agreed, but we got some special taxes that even the importer (I know the guy personally) has troubles
explaining to people outside of Croatia.. If they had the same price as in Italy, they'd do great. And even
there I was shocked to see the Honda SH300i on the top of the charts!

Aprilia kicked their a$$ with the new Scarabeo 200i IMHO, 19hp water cooled, mid sized, and very cheap,
almost People S200 territory, and it's better in every single way.

Anyways, the Agility 200i probably won't be imported here, but the price should be about the same as Like 200i,
and that's thankfully 'only' 50% more, not double.

This certainly depends on the discount you get from that guy that not only you know. :)
For me, it is close to double. :)))))))))))))
