Well it finally happened.

I've been feeling the bug for a couple of years now and this week I finally saw a motorcycle at a price I could not pass up.  So I took the old Xciting 85 miles to Connecticut and traded it in for a 2014 Honda CTX 700N.  The test drive sealed the deal.  They only wanted $2995 for the motorcycle.  Admittedly, I would have liked a little more for my scooter, but I do think I more than made up for it with the price I got the bike for. 
What was really funny was that while we were working out the deal, I saw 4 different people sit on my scooter.  One guy was asking about it and I heard the sales manager say that they hadn't completed the deal yet, and someone had already put an offer on it. 
Anyway, just wanted to say I've enjoyed my time on the forum and appreciate how welcome I have always felt here.  Unless you all kick me out, I will continue to pop in on occasion.

By the way, if you live in the Groton, CT. area, the scooter is for sale from the dealer for $2299.   It's mechanically excellent, with only a couple of cosmetic blemishes.  I would guess you could get them down to $2000 as they had to do nothing to the bike.  I finished the trade around 1 p.m. and they posted it online by 5 p.m.  LOL!

Agreed.  I enjoyed the scoot...sorry to see it go.  I was impressed with the Xciting....for a 250, it was well-planted on the highway, never gave me any mechanical trouble and still looks good.  As I search for saddlebags, I miss the underseat storage already...LOL.

Its a shame you don't get the NC750S over there, it has enough space in the fake tank for a full face helmet.

Sounds like our NC700...there is about 23 liters (enough for a full helmet) of space where the fuel tank should be.  It was the first of the new parallel twins from Honda.  The CTX is the second.  I sat on a couple of NCs - but the seat was a little high for me...usually the case with the adventure style bikes.

Get a tank bag. I had one on my Honda 919 Hornet and was expandable to 29 litres. Easily held my XL Nolan modular helmet, groceries or whatever. I also put on a tail bag and some of those are expandable too. Lots of options for aftermarket storage on motorcycles.

The S isn't an adventure style bike, it has a 40mm lower seat height.
I don't think the S has been sold in the USA either as a 700 or 750.
The 750 motor is significantly better than the 700 and two years after the introduction of the 750 I just don't understand why Honda continues supplying the 700

Looks similar to the NC700x to me.   This particular 700, actually 670cc engine is a relative new development by Honda, only about 5 years on the market, by my knowledge, but yes, I've heard of the 750 and never understood why a lot of bikes sold in Europe are not offered in the US.   I'm sure there are very good marketing reasons, but, they could at least try it for a year or two.

There's at least three variants NC700X, CTX700, CTX700N, and NM4. The engine is a modified two cylinder version of the Honda Fit car engine.

The NC700/750 comes in three body styles, the S roadster motorbike, the X adventure styled motorbike and the Integra (D) scooter type motorbike.
The X has longer suspension than the D and S
All share the same frame and engine and wheels and brakes etc.
The original body work of the S and X have been altered for 2016.

The CTX has a different frame and is a foot forward style job as is the NM4 Batmobile.
The NM4 is marketed in Europe as the Vultus and afaik the CTX is north america only.
