Kymco Downtown

Can anyone help. My Kymco Downtown is displaying a red warning Oil Service light. It is not due for a service for another 1000 or so miles. I've looked in the handbook but I can't see how to make it go out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Oh, this is a FUN one! Nearly fell down when that light came on! You have four (4) odometers on that DT: Total miles cannot bee reset; Trip A; Trip B and OIL CHANGE. Scroll through the sequence by holding the ADJust button for about 3 seconds. ODO, Trip A, Trip B and then NO words just numbers. That will be the oil change odometer. Reset it by holding both MODE and ADJ buttons for about 3 seconds. Both have to be pushed AT THE SAME TIME! The miles and tenths will go to zero and the red oil symbol will go out!

Also, that oil odometer turns on the symbol at about 600 miles. I now use mine to show miles per tank of fuel. Sort of a cross-check with the fuel gauge. Gets rid of that oil light coming on every 62 miles! And that leaves two reset odometers for navigation!

Now that is quite interesting since my MyRoad apparently is the same but the owners manual is so terrible you wouldn't be able to get that from what they wrote.

You are more than welcome, mcdcfc3. Always wanna be part of the solution, not part of the problem! MJR, I tried, even volunteered, to help rewrite the owners and service manuals but Kymco US ignored the offer!

I emailed Kymco Australia with a query and never received a reply either, bit disappointing.

That's what happens when people don't know the answer! They just ignore the question. I really do have a hard time believing NO ONE at KymcoUSA does not know the answers. I'll bet the "suits" just insulate the techies from the questions.

The other day when I started my DT300, I turned the key and let the needles do their dance, before I hit the start button. I could swear that I saw a #10 on the display where the clock is. And no , it wasn't 10 o'clock. I haven't seen it since. Is that possible, or am I seeing things?

Yea my new to me 07 zooki 400 has a trip a, trip b anr regular odo. You can do all kinds of math with it and still solve all math equations. It's like trying to program an old vcr. Finally after pushing buttons I figured out how to 0 out the trip A so I can use it as a gas guage by mileage per tank.

To Pipster: That error code 10 randomly shows up on my DT. There is no error code 10. It always goes away upon start. I just ignore. This has been reported on several times in past posts and the best advice seems to be to ignore it.

Thanks, scrollderf, that was the first time that I noticed the "10". At least now, I know that I wasn't seeing things. If you ever figure out what it means, give me a shout. Thanks for answering

The time I notice when I get the 10 code is if I turn the key before I pop up the side stand. No idea if it's related but who knows.
