Last year B&L kindly emailed me another blank maint. recording page which I glued into my LIKE200i owner's manual to keep track of my scoot's maintenance. No more room here.

June 2014 to November 2014 the scoot was basically down while the dealer, owner and Kymco USA sorted out the failed TPS. I, July I bought a FORZA in total exasperation. GREAT scooter, BTW.

The X's in left margin = valve checks. I try to support the oil producers in my area.
Still have a new clutch assembly and bell, brake pads, belts, bulbs, filters, plugs, rollers, injector, coil, fuel pump, etc. standing by as soon as I can wear out the orig. parts!
Now have two spare OEM YUASA batteries - embarrassingly.
Also have several pounds of hardware, fasteners and hoses parted out from an eBay seller.
Oh, yes....and the newish orig. LX seat, mirrors, top case, Kenda tires, in the closet. (I used a parted out LIKE 50cc seat from ebay for my rebuilt seat. They're the same seat - minus the LX piping).


Keeping track of the Burgman's servicing in back of the big SUZUKI service manual.

And yes, cyclepedia has a place to keep your main. recorded - but easier for me to keep hard copy. I can quickly check stuff w/o booting up the Dell.

And here's a weird one: I have a kit with the full set of valve shims. Purchased for the Forza - and ready for the Burgman. Bought it at really good price on eBay - after guy  used the 2 he needed from the set.

 That is cool. I bought a composition book at the dollar store for a log book. I drew vertical lines similiar to your book for partitioning date, mileage and description of work done.

It lets you create an account and keep track of all your maintenance online for any vehicle or cycle/scooter.  So far it's worked well for me.

Stig, I change the engine oil every 1,000 miles on my DT300. Manual says to use a good 5w50 4 stroke oil. It's hard to find and quite pricey. Been using 10w40 4T full synthetic motorcycle oil (valvoline) . I see from your records , you have used a few different oils. Do you prefer one over any other? Thanks

I've settled in to oil changes about every 600 miles....consequently using  Rotella T6 5/40 synthetic.  Many scooter owners recommended it......as often as I change it could probably use Chinese fish oil in it and be OK. If I ever hear convincing bad about the Rotella I'll quit using it.
The Burgman and Forza get Suzuki and Honds oil per the manual.

Ok thanks, I was going to go withe the Rotella T6, on the next oil change. With the manual saying to use a 4 stroke, it scared me off. I've been trying to figure out the difference between a 4 stroke and synthetic, like Rotella, T6 but a cant seem to find a definitive answer

Why do you guys change the oil so soon?  The manual for the DT300 says to change every 3000 miles.  I can see changing it at 600 - 1000 miles for a small scooter with no real filter, but changing the DT that quickly seems like a waste of good oil.  I use Mobil One 5w-50 and I think that should easily last 3000 miles since we have a good spin on filter on the DT300.  What do you all think?

I like keeping track of my maintenance and do so on a spreadsheet. One tab is for service another is to track my fuel economy (mpg). With today's software and/or cloud based computing I can share across both my desktop and mobile devices.

Jimboeau, you are probably right. Changing the oil at such short intervals is probably overkill. But the oil isn't too expensive, plus I get bored and like to play and tinker with my toys.[emoji51][emoji106]

for me, that is way to much effort and time consuming,   and I don't like bonding time with wrenches, I prefer to bond with a throttle grip, my vehicles are 100% dealer serviced, I want a report, I call my dealer up they poke a button on their computer, a printer spits out a hundred pages or more detailed to every itemized part, labor time, cost, date and mileage

There are riders over on a Honda scooter forum who say they never check their oil dipstick as long as no oil pooling under there scooter.
One can imagine how often they get on their knees to check air in tires.
I personally know two Kymco owners who did not know where their scoots dipstick was..
There are all kinds of folks who enjoy scootering.
Thank goodness for those riders who keep dealers afloat!
