My belt burnt up on my 06 exciting with 12000km (7500mi) on it. I replaced it with a gates that was very tight to get on but said to fit my bike(may have been wrong size) It burnt up within 2 miles. Variator appears to be fine.  The clutch pulley seems to stick open 1/2" but can snap closed with help. I,m thinking the belts may have got stuck down low and burnt up. Shouldn,t this pulley fully close when not engaged? Other than that the clutch appears fine. I am putting a oem belt on it this time and don't want it to burn up. thanks!

Have you removed bell and clutch?
Does sound like there may be some of the broken belt in there if pulley not closing.
Hopefully particles of belt not within the clutch assembly.....requiring complete disassembly of clutch.
Yep.....many have found that OEM KYMCO belt is the only safe way to go......
Have heard too that a Kevlar belt can mess things up when it lets go.

I took the clutch and spring off. Pulley assembly still seems sticky even without tension. Looks like a new assembly is in order

Maybe take the big nut under the clutch bell off.....disassemble and lube things inside the clutch.
Youtube video: hold clutch assembly - then with  big crescent wrench on nut - smack wrench handle on pavement to loosen nut and then hold down clutch with feet while unscrewing the nut.

I have used only gates booster Belts.
I believe this is the size:with angle
1025 x 28.9mm x 30
length x width x angle
Gates boosters models:
9802-41811
9802-40811
I have compared then side to side and cannot see a difference.
I also searched online, but can't find any info about these belts.
Regarding longevity, I am happy with their performance and reliability.
I have used 2 belts over 35 000km and still going strong.

You have to strip the CVT, both clutch and variator to examine all parts to see if wear is excessive.
There is an older free manual online, Italian headings, a Pdf page/chapter, but English contents. That will give you the tolerances.
