Battle Mode
« on: August 07, 2016, 02:52:28 PM »
When I put on my helmet and armored jacket it switches my mind into "Light Battle" mode.

This is not a Camry we're riding in.
They probably don't see me.
And if they do, they don't like me.

The road surface is not my friend.

However - I am aware that most scooter accidents are caused by the scooter rider.

Stig

PS: not that anyone here rides after drinking, but I found it interesting to read the State MV brochure which states that a large % of fatal motorcycle accidents involves a rider drinking.  However - only a % of those rider's bodies were found to have alcohol levels above the State's legal blood-alcohol level. In other words, they were not legally drunk - just deceased with alcohol in their system....

Sadly, alcohol impaired car drivers don't hurt just themselves. Still, 33 U.S. States permit a legal blood alcohol level higher than any country in the world.

Just so you don't yell, "Ramming SPEED!" Your post makes me grateful I quit drinking years ago. Dint used to think so but one ounce of alcohol in any form greatly affects judgement. Mid-1980's saw 50000 dead each year, 25k from booze or drugs, 25000 from stupid or just misfortune. Supposedly, the drunk number is lower thanks to MADD (at the expense of Constitutional rights) but we still have 25k annually due to stupid or misfortune.

I occasionally like to have a glass of wine while I relax at home.  I have a zero policy on my drinking alcohol and driving. If I have drunk any amount, I do not drive. I have trouble enough stone sober.  :D

Any amount of alcohol, is going to affect ones judgment. I'm with you , Mr. Paul, it's hard enough, stone sober. Especially when a fair amount of others have been drinking or taken some sort of " prescribed " meds. And don't forget those cell phones!!!

I'm guessing it's bingo night and the drink of choice is Shirley Temples.
