Does Everyone Use Non Ethanol Gas?
« on: September 12, 2016, 09:46:37 PM »
I have had my 2014 Super 8 150 for almost 2 years and try to use non ethanol gas as much as possible, but in my area of Florida, non ethanol gas is about 80 cents more than regular.

One of the reason that I bought a scooter was the gas mileage (I get around 64 mpg), but having to buy higher price gas offsets this.

So, I was wondering what others were using.

I also have a 150cc, and use only non-ethanol gas. To me, I'm saving more in gas mileage than I'm spending on that extra gas price (especially over my 12 mpg F-150 gas sucker), and it really keeps the gunk from building up in the tank and the carb that you get with ethanol gas. Also, I throw in some Seafoam every month to keep the carb clean. If it means the scooter runs better and longer, I will spend a little extra on the non-ethanol gas, no question.

I burn E10. Have since both of my scoots, 2012 SYM RV200 & 2013 DT 300, were new.
Never a problem BUT in this house the fuel never sits in a scoot very long as they get riden every day or so.

If you burn the fuel you should have no problems. Let it sit and it's another story.

I burn pump gas and occasionally add Seafoam.  Gunking not an issue because I ride daily.

Always have used E10 gas in the scooters.
No other kind around here.
However I never use anything but Top Tier gas stations. Costs no more than the other kind....has the clean fuel additives which all Top Tier companies have agreed to.
Never use my own additives any longer unless snowed in for months. Fuel stabilizer only....and seriously doubt that it is needed even then.
IMHO ...adding anything to Top Tier fuels is putting catsup on a tomato.

I use the cheapest grade E10 (87octane) and average 65MPG (but I work at it). Once a month I'll put in some stabilizer or Seafoam. I think keeping fresh gas in them is the key. When I was riding mine to work daily it was a fill-up every 3 days. That kept it fresh. It's a 2013 with 10,000 miles in it.

I use the cheapest gas I can find.  The secret to not having gas related problems is to not let the bike sit.  I ride almost every day.  I ride the scooter hard, at or near full throttle much of the time.  As of this morning I have over 24,300 miles on my 09 Super 8.  I bought this bike nearly 6 years ago so I have been averaging about 4,200 miles per year, most of that short trips.

On the (very) odd occasion I can get it without having to go 20 miles out of my way sure.
The bike runs a bit better on it in the heat but not a lot.

I tend to ride all the time so as with others the stuff sitting in the tank is not that big of a deal.
