pix- LIKE200i clutch, belt, slider servicing
« on: September 16, 2016, 10:37:10 PM »
Installed new OEM Kymco belt, 14g Dr Pulley sliders and dressed clutch pads & bell this week.
Belt cover was pretty well stuck, again. Used more anti-seize on the lip this time.

old BELT: OEM; 6,000 miles & 19.05mm wide ; serv. limit 19.0mm - (Cylclepedia-"replace at 6,200 miles")
new BELT: 19.88mm

OEM Kymco Clutch: 10,000 miles; pads measured 2.42mm thick ; serv. limit 2.0mm
new Clutch pads: 3.00mm+/-
lightly sanded pads clean; green scrub pad & detergent to clean bell & reinstalled both

14g Dr Pulley sliders and slide pieces replaced with new parts
ramps, pulleys and boss cleaned, bearings lubed

Pulley surfaces looked unchanged from 6,000 miles ago.

After 6,000 miles

Belt dusty

Belt looked OK, but was at wear limits, and the sliders & slide pieces looked OK as well, but replaced them both while I was in here. Vacuumed the foam on the clean-looking air filter, nothing in the puke tube, cleaned all parts and installed new belt, slide pieces and 14g sliders from Dr Pulley.
I used my 12V impact wrench connected to an old scooter battery to break loose both nuts. Torque wrenched them on.
Replaced both nuts with new OEM parts.
I have a new, OEM, KYMCO clutch and bell which might be needed next year. The clutch is sold fully assembled, plug & play.
Test ride today was as smooth as always - I was worried that dressing the clutch pads and bell surfaces would mess up my butter smooth clutch operation - but it has not.
I use a $12 CVT (eBay) holding tool w/a small piece of cheater/pipe & torque wrench to tighten both nuts.

Hello from Indiana.
Sorry it took a few hours to get pix here....
Clown never showed for my BD party....plus the hot air balloon guy misjudged a few things.

Good post Stig! Everything on the Like looked really good for 6k miles. You keep it maintained like that, and you could pass it along to the grand-kids!
