My drive belt...
« on: September 22, 2016, 10:27:26 PM »
It's time for me to change out my belt, I've measured it and it comes out to 784 millimeters, and all I see it 669's, 720's-743's, even 800's and higher but no 784, do I have to buy kymco's belt, I mean it has a part # on it like its their plan? :/

You dont HAVE to buy a Kymco belt, but it is the smartest choice you could make in my experience.

I have replaced the belt on my S-8 twice.  The first one at 7000 miles and the second 10,000 miles later.  Neither belt looked worn and could probably have stayed on for a lot more miles.  The Kymco belt isn't that expensive.  I plan on sticking with the Kymco belt.

Yes, it does happen, but nothing to be concerned about until they become deep indentations, which will only happen after  many 1000 miles, or you drive one speed only like wot....:)

If you vary your driving style it will even out.

my little 125 has done 9500km ( that nearly 6000miles) (origional belt cluth etc) and i love dong long distances. so that definately is why there is a step. think i'll just replace the disks and the belt and so on. from what i've read it seems that the origional Kymco goods seems to better through the bank so i'll be aiming at that!

thanks
