Kymco Like 200i overnight camp video
« on: October 11, 2016, 02:13:00 PM »

Hopefully this link will take you to my YouTube trip video. I have camped many different ways but have wanted to make a trip on my Kymco since starting to ride in May of this year. The experience was great and the scooter and I stood up well to the back roads of Ontario. As this is my first YouTube video ( there are three 15 minute parts) I would appreciate as much feedback as possible.

Very nice videos. I liked the set up on the bike. Nice scenery.
I have been contemplating taking a cross country trip across town. I will be making some practice runs with some gear loaded up. Short trips of less than 100 miles would be ideal on the Like.

I have ridden well over 17 miles on my scooters.

Thanks! Still have to tweak the bag setup but this worked very well, the cargo nets held everything in place. I feel you could go long distances on anything but you need to take plenty of "scenery" brakes and enjoy the journey while tripping on a scooter.

Hey Jim,
thank you so much for these stunning beautiful videos! Soaked in all three of them. I love them. Pls keep them coming!  :) ;)
Nice camera view, beautiful scenery takes,  interesting campsite search, interesting comments and explanations spoken in a relaxed manner.
Also I admire your environmental attitude. Leaving a campsite without a trace. Thumbs up!  8)

This gas can seems to fit perfectly in there, doesn´t it? How did you tie it down to keep it in place on these bumpy gravel roads and trails?
Or did you just hold it squeezed between your feet.  :o

Last summer I also made a trip with my Like for a couple of days, but camped on a official campsite and therefore brought my tent with me. I have to repeat this more often. It´s fun. The piled up luggage on the scooter served me as a backrest.  :) ;) So it was not too uncomfortable.
Unfortunately public gravel roads and trails allowing motorvehicles are very very rare over here nowadays in my aerea (of Europe). But paradise for hikers...

So Jim, can´t wait for your next camp trip video in stunning nature.  ;)
Cheers,
Robo

Thanks vespbretta, really appreciate the comments. The gas can was tied with a small piece of cord thru the cans handle and under the front of the seat (where you can hang your helmet and close the seat) and stayed in place. I tried to figure a way to tie it with other cords/nets, but this is all I could come up with for now.
Sounds like a beautiful part of the world where you live, and I bet the organized camps are great.
It's getting colder here now and there's always something else to get done before winter, but I really, really want to get some more camping in.

Nice job Kino,
Thanks for posting here.
I don't as a rule sit thru 45 mins of pavement videos - but yours was different, and well shot - with pretty good audio.
Plus of course you were riding a Kymco LIKE. !
One suggestion which should get you a lot more views on youtube.....
Re-title the videos, adding the words: Kymco, scooter, and camping -- in some order.
Scooter lovers, campers, and Kymco folks will be able to find your videos. I think they also call scooter camping, "Scamping"
In any event, well done and thanks again.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Thanks for the comments Stig, much appreciated. I did put a lot of those words and phrases in the key words or tags section, but I will try renaming the title. I'm new to scooters and YouTube videos so I need any and all comments.

I used a few of your searchwords and finally stumbled over this remarkable link.
A young enthusiastic and nice british couple riding from North Alaska to West Canada and then in Winter!!! through Canada to the East Cost of Canada on two Honda C90. Temperatures sometimes down to -20°C or even -30°C.

Amazing and almost unbelievable what´s possible with only enough willpower...

The C90 seems to be not the worst choice, because it´s cheap, reliable, easy to repair, spareparts all over the world available and lightweighted, because it´s more or less a motorized bycicle.

Yes,watched many of his videos, he's been all over the world.I was looking at the Sym Symba 100 before I found the Kymco Like 200i, because it is a remake of the kind of bike he rides. I'm glad I decided on the Kymco, it's been great so far and even with the small wheels I feel I could ride anywhere!

Thanks for the comment about the video, it's encouraging to know that others enjoy it too.
An adventure it was for sure, I'd like to get out for another overnight at least once more before the snow flies.
