"Combined" braking on the new LIKE
« on: December 07, 2016, 09:29:16 PM »
Gallery photo from Kymco.com shows that the re-designed LIKE will have a 3 piston front caliper for what is termed "combined braking".
This is not as good as ABS, but since so many riders get into trouble in emergency situations by over applying the back brake (locking & skidding the rear tire) - while under-utilizing the front brake - this joined system will activate one piston for at least some front tire braking whenever the rear brake lever is squeezed.
The other two pistons within the caliper are set in motion by the front brake lever.
Not everyone is a fan of combined braking - but it is meant to be a safety device and Honda has used it on some of its scooters for years.

I hope the USA dealers quickly clear out their stock of leftover LIKE200i's so that we can see these incredibly handsome new LIKEs.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.
