Dan you might try removing the gas cap when it is acting up. Karl, (Crossbolt) had a similar issue with his DT and when he removed the fuel cap he heard a wooosh. He found that the venting valve, for the fuel tank was stuck. His post about it is on here someplace. His remedy was to disassemble the cap and put a small hole in it. If you don't hear the wooosh, then that's probably not your problem.
I love the combination of color on your BW. It is styled some what like the Wing. I've owned two Silverwings and they are great bikes. About 500 lbs. as I recall. Good luck....

Just re-read Crossbolt's post. It is under Technical l  How to, page 2, "Pressurized fuel tank - DT300i. He was dealing with pressure  "BUILD - UP" in the heat of summer, but it stands to reason that if the pressure can't vent out, then the air can't vent IN for the same reason. Just a thought. Maybe it will help.

Hello-  Not sure how to post a new subject so I am replying to this one with a similar subject.

I have a question about a 2005 B&W.  It was in a crash and all the front bodywork is missing but the foot panel area is in good shape.  The seller says it runs and rides perfectly with new handle bars.  Assuming that is all correct, can I put this thing back into shape for $300? He is asking $500  NADA-fair is $700 I will offer $300.  I even wonder if that is too much.  I could ride it naked.
Any advice appreciated.

Thanks guys for the tip on the gas cap. The gentleman who posted a question about purchasing a BW with missing body parts. Perhaps you'll need to find a vendor online that sells those parts to determine your offering price. I think Kymco body panels are reasonable in cost but simply a guess until you get hard numbers.

Carb replacement can be done no problem. Sounds like the old carb is just gunked up. Even though you put Seafoam in the tank, I would recommend draining the fuel tank and putting in fresh gas. You may have some floaties and gunk in there from the gas sitting so long. I cannot recall if the BW has a fuel filter, if it does would not hurt to check or replace it. Getting a low mileage used scooter is a mixed blessing. Less wear on the engine and hard moving parts but more issues with the rubber and fuel system. Hope you get it sorted out OK. It is a nice scooter.  :)

Thanks Mr. Paul for the tips and duly noted. Had the same problem with an older 95 GL 1500 Goldwing that sat in a garage for several years. That bike cost me a bunch to fix but in the end I sold it for a king's ransom as I installed an outrigger called a Tow Pac Insta Trike.

I would stay away from that one! With that kind of front end damage it is possible if not likely to have damaged front shocks or frame. As far as how to post, go to the area you wish to post in, and click New Topic at the top and put your title in and then your post. Hope this helps ya.

Fast idle and not coming off choke is just the enricher gone bad. Replace. This was a recall on BW in Canada. There is a thread on it in the Bet And Win section.
