No pictures showing on your post.
What Kymco model name is on the scooter's flanks?
Or try again to post pictures.
Thanks.

It  looks like a Kymco Vitality 50. They were available as both 4T and 2T engine types. sold in U.S. 2005-2008.

Can you see the pictures? Other forum members can.
I'm about to buy this, the thing is there's no paperwork available, I don't even know how that works with the DMV. They have a set of keys but they don't even match, it matches the compartment under the seat, but it wouldn't turn on the starter.
I would think they're ripping me off, like if it was stolen, but my neighbor was a pretty normal guy, that drove that thing for years, he also had a damn Ducati and a Range Rover, so I don't think he would steal a kymco scooter. He mostly drove it in the summer, or had his kids drive it for him to go to the store.
His brother says he was just messy and they're having trouble finding all the stuff he was supposed to have in order (they can't find paperwork for the Range Rover neither, but that one is easier to solve I guess) and they're mourning right now so chances are I'll never get the paperwork if I buy it.
Since it's cheap and old, they don't want to go through the trouble, as if they where selling it "as is".

Again, I would like to know the most I can from the pictures, if you need different pictures or a specific picture please ask, they parked it outside their house so I have access to it, but they said I had until mid January or they will just donate it to charity and get a write off.

Yes Cessna I can see your pictures. As I said above it looks like a Kymco Vitality 50 model. If you are in the States it is probably a two-stroke engine version. According to KBB it is worth between $500-$800 in good-excellent condition. The key problem could  be because the start switch was replaced due to failure of the lock. In the shape indicated by your photo I would guess if it runs it is worth around $200-$300. If it does not, much less.

I think Tortoise has it pegged. It might be a Super 9.

Today I took more pictures, it's in the same spot and I can't start the engine because I don't have the key.
I'm in the state of Colorado, but I might You Haul it either to California or Nebraska (I have to move and still need to pick between those two)
I want to know these things
1. Will it be legal to buy, if they don't have the pink slip
2. Is there a way to get the pink slip after, without having to bring back from death the original owner (they told me today that they're just gonna sell it for $50 for scrap to a junk yard, they're not donating it because they can't find the paperwork, so they can't/won't help me, neither now or ever)
3. Is it easy to replace the starter (i do a lot of car and airplane maintenance myself, so I know my way around tools, and I'm good with electric systems, I just have never touched a motorcycle in my life)
4. If it's hard to replace the starter, can I just put it "direct", like no key, we have that for airplanes and I have an old Mazda that requires no keys (thief's dream my wife calls it), I just installed a $1 switch on it, will it be hard to start and how do I start it (Now, yes, I'm asking how to live wire it or hot wire it, I'm becoming the thief my wife thinks it's gonna take my Mazda haha) I just don't want to invest money on this bike before I even know how it runs.

Thanks.

If you are willing to invest some time and a little cash, I'd say put down that $50 and do it.  You seem to trust that it's not hot. Just get a signed bill of sale with a VIN.  Unless you need to license it or insure it.  That changes things.

For $50, it's worth the risk. Worst case, you can sell it for parts. I'd buy it

The starter IS easy to replace and they are available on the internet. Remember though it has a kick starter as well so if you can hot wire it or replace the key switch you'll have a scoot for almost no money. ;)
