Cool beans Tom. Thought about a pair of those battery operated gloves too. Where did you get yours, how long do they heat and are you happy with them?
Dan, my $170 gloves are on sale for $99 right now.
"GERBING Core Heat 7 Volt glove liners" from
www.thewarmingstore.comMine are 2+ yrs old. Work well to keep hands comfortable down into the teens at 65mph....even colder at 35mph set on med. of 3 heating ranges. Last for hours.
I wear them under leather Olympia Wind-Tex gloves.
Pros: self contained...no wiring to scoot or my body. Enables winter riding in Ohio. Enlarge first pic above.... see them protruding from leather glove.
Cons: bulky battery pack on wrists...requires very large over-gloves since these are liners, not scoot powered heating gloves (which are pricey)
When I am miles into the boonies on frigid winter days I was leary of anything drawing its electricity from my scooter...even though I've installed larger YUASA's for the same reason of my wellbeing.
But once underway, I give no more thought to my hands on very cold rides. NO other glove combo worked to keep the pain away on long winter rides. Layers, chemical hand warmers, bar mitts, etc. Nothing worked like these battery heated glove liners, for me.
