New XC500i

Hello all. Its been a few years since I posted. Last time I was here I had just bought a nice 05 Super 9 (orange). Has a few since, agility 125, b&w 250 (sold to scooter Dan), gv 250 and now my biggest Kymco yet.. 2009 Xciting 500 I. Got t for $2500 with 400 miles on it. It was never sold or titled. Came with full factory warranty by a new Kymco dealer in town. Put some new Michelin Tires on. Really liking it so far. Super solid and heavy - which to me are good things as they equal stability on the road. It has some serious fading of the red plastic but I don't mind. (That's why I got it for so cheap.) It kinda has a cool patina to it. Plan on commuting with it to our new office later in 2017.

I use a spray cleaner/polisher called "Bike Spirits" and the plastic looks great. Except where the throw-over saddlebags rub. I tour a lot on self-supported scooter camping trips aka S'camping.

This black plastic parts are still good. Its the body panels and fender and cowl that are faded. Looks silver in the pix. Fade is beyond repair except for replace or repaint. All good. May paint the front fender black or just leave it alone. Love the big feel and smooth ride. 50 miles so far on the new tires. Trickle charger keeps things ready to fire.

Hey Sissy Mary, nice hearing from you. Was talking about you just the other day. How many miles have you clocked now?

I'm some where over 65,000? The LED screen went out a few months ago.

Bummer Sissy Mary. My 09 clocked 43800. More if I wasn't also riding a Lance Cali Classic 150 all over town. It's a year old and has 2300. I'm trying to catch up to you. Although, I am seriously considering a Honda Silverwing. Like the smooth twin on the highway.

I have thought of a silver wing to for the same reasons. Kymco makes the 400i and a new 550cc twin! But our dumb ass importer will probably never bring either of them into the USA?

Forgot. Piaggio makes a comfort touring scooter called the X10. Both 350 & 500cc's. But they only bring in their MPG 500 3 wheeler into the USA? The 500 X10 is what I want. Everyone should Google it. WOW is all I can say.

Well Sissy Mary, I got the Silverwing. No regrets. Smooth twin cylinders. Have only had one afternoon in the saddle and a couple of errands around town. Can't say for sure that I prefer it over the Xciting. Not yet, anyway.
