headlamp replacement with LED?
« on: January 01, 2017, 08:36:03 PM »
Just wondering if anyone has tried to replace their stock headlamp bulbs with LED replacements?  Are LED replacements even available?  Tried doing a search but nothing came up. Thanks in advance

I have the '15 450i and the manual says halogen bulbs, only the "winkers" as they call them are LED's. Just curios if an Led replacement bulb is available? Not interested in adding additional lighting, honestly the stock headlamps are good just thinking of something brighter. Made the change in my auto and I really like them.

Leds can be used but my reaserch shows they are easily damaged in an offroad vehicle if used off road. I did find that "silverstar" automotive headlamps will work in our buggies, I have them in my car and like them a lot. The model 90003 for an H4 bulb is supposed to fit. I haven't actually taken one out to check but this is what the recommendations are. When warmer weather gets here I plan to check it out.

Very curious as to how the silverstars work out. I'd like some additional lighting but don't want to stress or overload the battery and electrical system. Some light on the lower front corners of the roll bar and a work/backup light on the rear would be great. But not at the expense if it messed something up.

The silverstar is a replacement lamp for your headlamps in your UTV, not an add on light

Correct, I've used them in my trucks in the past. They made some difference but not a HUGE difference. Curious to see if they are better or improvement over the stock lamps in the 450i.

They made a big difference in my car, so if I get that much from my UTV I will be happy. Besides I find the Kymco headlights to be quite good, far better than my ATV's ever were and they are high enough not to interfere with my plow.
