front hitch receiver
« on: January 02, 2017, 07:54:34 PM »
a front hitch receiver would make parking trailers and my Tow Hoe much easier, the turning radius with the 450i is so quick, that it is hard backing a trailer up

I see a few "universal" winch mount.receiver hitch combo's on e-gay, but wonder if they truly ar universal or may need modification

Thought about the same thing myself, had one on my Praire and used it a lot, but then again the Praire was a bitch backing up a trailer.  I can back up a trailer blindfolded with a steering wheel, worked at a marina in my youth backing and spotting trailers before I even had my license, but backing up with handle bars is another story! I looked at the scenario on my machine and thought a hitch might be in the way of the winch or I would have to drop it low and cut off my ground clearance....so haven't done anything yet.  Do keep us posted on what you find or make, if one could be added and retain the winch without loosing ground clearance then I would definetly be interested.
Mabey Kurt from "Off Road Body Armor" should look into this as he is a real crafty guy for this type of thing, you might give him a holler.
