chinese kickstart
« on: June 20, 2010, 04:26:02 AM »
I got a full kickstart for the chinese gy6 for not a lot of money but found it was slightly different on the kymco engine. The pinion shaft is shorter on the kymco. So i had to grind a few mm of it to make it work, and not use the washer behind it. It works perfectly now.

..there's a difference in the starter motor's shaft length too...
..every mod (action) necessitates a (reaction) mod..

Those kymco pinion shafts are very expensive. The chinese ones are very cheap and with a little modification work perfectly.

i`m also thinking to buy a set of kick start parts for my agil.
lately i hear a strange noise from the cover like the pedal mechanism is touching the bendix or what doese it touches inside. It`s like you push it with the engine running : CR C R RR CCRRR
so every time i ride it i must listen and if it does sound like that i have to stop and with the engine running push the pedal with my hand 1-2 times. Then it stops doing that.

Mechanism has grease, it works good, the pedal returns to maximum UP position, i don`t kick it like noobs do. What it the cause ?
