Do scooter tires need to balanced? Has anyone here used dyna beads for balancing their tires? Anyone think dyna beads don't do what they were intended for? My 125 has a vibration or really more of a hop over 40mph. I have 4500 miles on her now and am about to replace the rear tire this week and hope that will cure my problem. Oh yea, I bought her used and didn't notice it until I got her out on the open road.
If you've got the bars shaking when you let go of them at certain speed, it's the front wheel.
Rear wheel being at fault is very rare. If by "hop"-ing you mean that the tire is not perfectly
round and you can feel the scooter going up and down, then yeah, that's possible on the
rear and balancing won't fix that.
If you still have the OEM/stock CST (Cheng Shin Tire) tires, I'm not surprised.
Get a pair of proper, 'brand name' tires and make sure they're balanced correctly
and you'll have a smooth ride.
