Kymco dropped selling these. They are collectors items and will go down in value. Kymco saw there was no market here in the states for them. This is sad. The general public thinks for the price they could get a used motorcycle instead. This is how reality is today.
Honestly had Kymco actually put a usable seat on this thing they might have sold more but as Dawsman had said the cockpit looked a bit cramped (in a post that seems to be gone now). I really like mine after getting over the initial problem I had with it (still need to do something about that seat). It is unique and that is a reason I was drawn to it.
Interesting you mention that because I was just talking to a guy this weekend at a dealer looking over a used 2015 Burman 650. He had made the same comment that for the price he could get a used motorcycle. I said but this thing is twist and go, comfortable, and has large underseat storage. He seemed to change his outlook on the bike just having the bike explained to him a bit. But I doubt most dealerships do much to even explain what maxi scooters are all about. I think though once they get over that it's called a scooter and actually take one for a ride they can more fully understand how nice they are.
Another issue I had run it years ago was the local Kymco dealer had most only scooters and wasn't interested in stocking a MyRoad because of the size/price since his normal customers bought small scooters for running around town mostly. Kymco had loaned them a bike for a few weeks so I could at least look and sit on one but what kept me from buying at the time was the price. At just under $10K it seemed a bit high to price a Kymco right in line with the Silverwing and Burman quality perception or not. Ultimately I ended up waiting years first because of Kymco's rumored deal with BMW that kept them from selling it here for some number of years since they were manufacturing the engines for them and second until I saw a price on one that made me buy.
It looks like they sold only 2014-15 model years here though in other markets they started in 2008 and 2015 might have been the last year made (hard to find info). It appears on the high end scooter they have focused on the Yamaha T/max with their latest offering overseas with the AK550.
