zx 50 starter
« on: June 23, 2010, 02:13:46 PM »
put a new battery in and the starter worked again but after a couple days it won't work.  the horn still sounds "good battery" loud.  I heard a small click when I hit the starter button.  What do you think?

Might want to check and clean your starter switch.

You might want to check your connectors right through. I think I read in another thread about poor contacts on the relay.

..my starter problems boiled down to the magnets freeing themselves from the interior casing of the starter motor...

...sounds kinda like what you're saying...

..new starter motor is around 30 bucks...

Not on the ZX!  My dealer wants nearly $70!  All kickstart for me! ;D

Sounds like the starter relay though. ;)
