Tire Substitute size for 80/80-16
« on: February 27, 2017, 05:41:03 PM »
I want to find tires for 2003 People 50 which I believe come stock with 80/80-16 in front but these are hard to find. I see Michelin City Grips in 90/80-16 but not 80/80-16, can I sub these? The rear takes 100/80-16 and these are easy to find.

It will work fine with the People. The slightly larger size will effect your odometer and speedometer readings. The 90/80/16 will have 36 less revolutions per mile because of the larger circumference. I run 100/80/16 on the front of my People and it works fine. I do get a small about of rub on the back of my fender during panic braking but its not a big issue to me. The 90 is not as big around so it probably will be a non-issue. In my opinion, more rubber on the front is a good thing.  ;)
