Have you made a long trip on your Kymco scooter?

I have made two reasonably long trips on my Kymco People 300.  One was 340 miles round trip; the other was a little over 200 miles (all in the same day).  I was wondering how many people on the forum have made even longer trips?  Also, what was your cruising speed.  Do you prefer Interstate or state highways?

Chattanooga Tn to Washington DC couple years ago.  It did good just very heavy rain the first day and must had assembly lube in the cvt caused the belt to slip. It does good on the interstate but it's a lot more fun on state roads.  The fuel cap under the seat is pain in the azz when strapping luggage to the seat.  ROK straps is a must have, I didn't know of them when I  took my trip they would have saved about 15 minutes at each fuel stop.

Springfield and Branson, MO on one trip from Selmer, TN. Then Cumberland Gap, TN from Hillville, TN. Both over 400 miles, first at 50-55 mph, second at 55-65 mph. Second trip on the DT300i and GTi300. Both good cruisers but the People is a PITA for refueling like you said. Wotsa ROK strap?

Soon to do about 1500 miles round trip to Missouri on my SW. Riding with a group of Goldwings as they cruise at 75. Attending a Goldwing forum meet and greet.  Will do a trip report following the trip next month in late April. This will be my first long ride on the SW since getting it a few years ago. I've done a couple of multi thousand miles trips on my past Burgman's.

I did @4,000 miles in the local State Park over 16 mos....killed the TPS.

I did approximately 1500 miles, from Memphis to Robbinsville, North Carolina and spent the next 4 days riding the Dragon's tail, state hwy 129 and the Cherohala skyway and thru a lot of mountain roads. I was on my Silverwing and was doing 40 to 50 in the mountains and 65 to 70 on the interstate. There were 6 SW's on the ride It was one of my best rides.

ROK straps are tie downs.  Looped on the outside ends with a snap /adjuster in the middle and one side is elastic.  No hooks to damage paint

NC to Vermont, about 2,700 miles in 7 days.
Average 72mpg+ on the interstates doing about 70-75 mph.
On the Downtown not the GT.  Downtown not as pretty but
its more functional and flexible.

I have found these post helpful and encouraging.  I just got back from a trip from Montgomery, AL to Cocoa, FL.  We took the cage but used the trip to look for motorcycle routes.  We started on 231 from Montgomery to Dothan, AL.  In Dothan we hit Hwy 84 and followed it until it hit Hwy 27.  I would have liked to follow 27 further south, but because of time constraints we got on Interstate 10.  The traffic was fast, but I think still doable for my scooter (People GT 300).  Hwy 84 and Hwy 27 are great motorcycle routes.  My neighbor has great praise for Hwy 84; he has rode it from Alabama to Texas.

Anyone else done long trips?
Looking for a scooter for my wife (she has a yager now) that she can ride from Colorado to California and also down to Southern Mexico. Need a solution for 3000-5000 mile trips.

Don't think I would use a gti300 for southern Mexico, need something with better fuel range or at least storage
