replacement mirrors
«

Finally got around to removing mirrors to look at the possibility of extending the stalk so I could see behind me - I did it on my Aprilia and it worked marvelous. I can't get the mirror off the stalk - not sure how it is attached, so I am going to see if maybe I can find new mirrors that stick out further. Any ideas? On my Aprilia I added a 3 inch bolt to the end by welding a metric nut on the head of the bolt - hopefully this summer I will make some new ones out of S/S round rod - on the Aprilia the mirrors are threaded on the end.

..the mirrors on my ppl 50 look like there's a "compression" type nut where the mirror body is attached to the stalk..
..dunno if your's is different or not...

I make two aluminum flat bar extensions that raise the mirrors one inch and move them out 3 inches - very happy with the outcome.
To try to answer your question - the round shaft goes up to a seam that has a plastic trumpeting shaped sticking out that the mirror rotates in. In this seam there are 2 round indentations - possibly a place to get a hold with a spanner wrench - I screwed with this some and then decided to go to the flat bars - will post a picture Monday at work.
