Day 1 hour 1 with new 450i. Please read!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: April 09, 2017, 01:52:57 AM »
I get home and unload the machine and take the kids for a ride.  I start to feel a wobble in the front end right side. I get off to find the tire/ rim is coming off.  All the lug nuts are loose. I also notice when driving the steering wheel is not straight.  They must have done the alignment with the wheel turned. Not done the right back up light is not working.  This machine is new!!!!!!!!

Need to call them on Tuesday.  What would everyone on this forum do and expect from the dealer. I'm concerned that this machine was not looked over properly at the dealership and more importantly from the manufacture.

My plan is to contact them on Tuesday and demand they pick up the machine and bring it to their shop to reevaluate front to back everything. Now I'm concerned other things may have been missed such as fluids etc.

I did my homework on this machine and read every single post on this forum at least three times. I also contacted the gentleman who fabricates the aftermarket products as I was very impressed with his design and attention to detail.

Sounds like the dealer dropped the ball on prep. Just tell them what happened and give them a chance to make things right. Don't get ugly with them right out of the gate.

I can understand your frustration. It seems as if the dealership has made your experience poor. I don't think any of that falls back on Kymco though. These machines come in crates and therefore need to be assembled before being sold. Obviously they did not do a very good job assembling it, led alone I cannot believe they didnt drive it before selling it to you. After assembling the utv, the steering wheel always needs adjustment so thats not unusual. The gas leak im unsure what that could be. I dont think this a you get what you pay for kind of deal, because my families dealership has never had anyone come back with issues on any of there kymcos. Im sorry you had a bad experience.

I would be upset as well but do give the dealer a chance to correct any problems. Most all manufacturers including Kymco recommend a check of certain things before riding your machine for the first time including air pressure, check lug nuts and check all fluid levels.  I know the dealer should have done this, but you should have taken a test ride before taking the machine. I would never take home a machine without a test ride whether new or used. Hopefully your dealer apologizes and corrects the problems....do give them a chance.  Most machines do not get a front end alignment from the dealer, it is not part of the prep but quite easy to do.  I posted on this forum a simple and easy way to align any atv or utv.
