Suspension Setting?

Hey I am going to be packed down fairly good soon for a trip and I wonder about resetting the shocks.  Do I need to do this and how?  I am going to have a couple of bags on the back see along with my top case.  I decided I did not like the saddle bags for several reasons and sold them to bad I did like the hi-vis!

Your scooter probably came with the shocks set at the middle setting.
Unless you are adding a lot of weight to the top case (not recommended by Kymco) you might not need to adjust the shock pre-load more than one notch....or maybe no need to adjust since you are not a heavy rider to begin with.
Adjustment should be shown in your owner's manual....and perhaps the hooking/turning tool came in your tool bag?
Probably a youtube of setting shock pre-loads on motorcycles or scooters.

Thank you well I am going to have a fair bit of weight maybe 60 pounds on the seat with me.  The top box won't be having heavy stuff for sure.

...and it did the job perfectly, other than being a bit awkward on the exhaust side shock.

The tool kit that should have come with your scooter should have a shock adjustment tool. (spanner).But on used scoots, some times they are missing. As stated before you probably won't need an adjustment and the extra weight should make it ride even better, b u t, knowing how you love to tinker, you will probably move it around a bit. No harm. Some times it's fun to experiment.

The DT's shocks are only preload adjustable.

There are 5 settings, 1-5, 1 being the 'softest' & 5 being the 'hardest'.

To adjust it, you need to take the weight off the shocks by placing the scooter on the center stand.

Then with your hand grab the lower part of the shock and turn to the desired setting. It is stepped so you'll get the right number each time. The numbers are stamped on the shock with the arrow to indicate the setting.

Ah you get me.  I have to see how it works!! I do have a tool.  I bought my bike new. I must find it now.

Amazing isn't it.  It is only about 3 hours from me now.  I have everything worked out for where my camera's will be along with my small laptop and chargers etc.

I'm thinking two nights camping in a small tent ??

...never been one for those IronButt hi-speed cross country runs...
Or trains.
"Stop this thing!  I wanna spend some time here and look at all this cool stuff !"  lol
A leisurely pace, enjoying new scenery is my preference.

And there's always some really cool spot where you might want to set up a tripod and film yourself against a panoramic background.
Too bad those SoloCam video trackers are so pricey !

  I Wt. 220 lb.  with 30 lb. of tools under the seat ,  my setting is # 3  so you are good to go below # 3 unless you like to race and do the curves at speed,  2011 downtown 85,000 Km
