300 class scooter question
« on: June 13, 2017, 01:21:22 AM »
Is anyone selling a 300 class scooter with ABS for around $4,650, or less, in the USA?

Was looking at a new Honda CB300F ABS tyoday.
Will not buy again without ABS.

I believe both the Forza, & the Vespa 300's have ABS available at least, not sure if standard.
And of course the BV350 has it if you want a step quicker than those.

Forza is $1500 more expensive than the Honda bike....the Vespa  is a million more, give or take....and the admittedly lovely Bev 350 is a pricey lady, too.
True, scoots can carry lots of stuff.....but I  carry little more tha a half drunk coffee, 99% of the time. A string bag on my back would do me fine.

What country ?
That would be amazing...since the current DT 300 without ABS lists for $5400 in the USA!!
A $1400 price cut while adding front ABS ??

Not sure where you're at precisely but if the Forza is one you'd do those are on cycletrader in your range.  The Beverly...welll that would be an insane deal new, & that scoot does seem to sell.  Used, with the ABS.  Haven't seen one yet, quite, but close.

Looks interesting.
A little less displacement 276/299 and a few less ponies 23/29 than the DT300 also.
Also 2 valve and a little porky. Also looks like the People 300i is on its way out. Also notice the DT350 was a "thud".

ABS front only ?

Thanks AMAC for that post/review...
Seemed too good to be true - cool idea of Kymco to get into that price range with a highway capable 250-300 class scooter. Not an interstate cruiser maybe - but will enable some cross town runs on the super slab. And the salesmen will no longer be fibbing when they mention "highway capable" when standing next to a scooter.
The SYM is out there, but Kymco has a much better factory/dealer back-up.
They mention the engine has 4 valves, not two, if I read it correctly.
I made a guess that the new 150 LIKE would have more speed and poop than the old 163cc version - seems Kymco spent a few more $ on the engine and we'll get more grunt.
I kinda think of my under-stressed 163cc LIKE engine to be a bit like a tractor. Has some power to move a quarter ton of me & scooter with some surprise - but we're not going to win any races in the 125-150 class. I don't race many scooters - so I like my LIKE.

It seems my link had some errors.
Kymco says 2-valve, also found it has Bosch abs both wheels.

Ive been reading reviews that varied about specs. Some reviews say 2-valve some say four. Others state abs front only. Yet others say air cooled.

I found a Kymco site with specs.
2 valve liquid cooled, Bosch abs both wheels.

http://kymco.com.sg/x-town-300i-abs/

So much misinformation in print on this one.

Kymco doesn't even list how many valves on it's own site nor which brakes may have ABS. http://www.kymco.com/product/maxi-scooters/X-Town-300i-ABS_HERO/ . All reviews I read show front ABS only and a liquid cooled 276cc engine but two conflict on the number of valves.

Stig,
Did you sell the Forza for the Burgman for the passenger carrying capacity or was there a problem with the Forza?
