« on: June 27, 2017, 10:17:25 PM »
Seems to run ok I thought the oil might be low because when I turned corner the light came on.looked low on oil .drove it again and light came back on after about 3 or 4 blocks.Stopped engine no light on.Not sure what it could be. Any help would be appreciated.

You have a LIKE200I, correct?
Without starting your scooter - turn on the key.....the amber light below fuel gauge will light for 2 seconds. The light will then begin to blink if there is a problem, engine or electrical.
Do you have any blinks.
(this light is part of the scoot's self diagnostic system. )
To check oil level. -  engine off for a minute ot three, insert dip-stick without screwing it in. Wiggle it a bit to paint the stick with oil. Take a look at it.
Please give us an update with what you find.

Yes.
The light will blink for a period of time ---- long and short.
This is the code telling you the problem...from a published list of issues.
So : 2 long blinks followed by 3 short blinks is fault #23. There will be a pause after this and it will either repeat the sequence again, or Heaven forbid - give you the code sequence for another problem...if there is more rhan one problem.

Chin up, some of the codes are telling you that you maxed the engine revs (going down hill?)....or have started the scooter with the throttle wide friggin open to the stops! So, stop doing that stuff!
After you get this sorted you can clear the codes...so scoot will be ready to self diagnose again.
The codes are found on cyclepedia.com if you buy the on-line serv manual....and maybe other places I'm not aware of.
Some of us LIKE200i owners have this manual and can help you.
Tell us what you found.

That would be code 16. Here is the code chart reading from the free manual above. Remember when reading that this is Chinese translated into English.

Yes, fault code came from engine temp sensor (cylinder head temperature sensor...a $40 part)...it works with the ECU & the oxygen sensor.
To see if it was a "one-off" fault detected, try clearing the fault code from the system.
STEPS:

KEY ON, WAIT 10 SECONDS....do NOT START scooter - just key on !

GIVE FULL THROTTLE AND HOLD 10 SECONDS

RELEASE THROTTLE.....after 5 seconds light will blink twice.

After light goes out the memory is cleared.
If light remains lit, trouble code is still present.

See what you find...

Is your scooter still under the 2yr warranty?
These sensors don't fail often....code could be sent after running high speeds, heating engine, low oil, bad oil, cheap gas (detonating with pre-ignition)
Have you spoken with the dealer?
Best way to locate parts and prices is to go to a parts web page.
Kymcopartsmonster.com is where many buy parts.
Once there
, search:
SCOOTER
200 CC
LIKE

look at cylinder head diagram for cylinder head temp sensor.
Price was @$40.

It is good to know how to find repair parts for your scooter.
